Scene to Stats: Sun Fac & Poggle the Lesser

Archduke Poggle the Lesser played a pivotal role during the rise of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Overseeing the creation of a droid army on Geonosis, he served Queen Karina the Great and commanded Droid and Geonosian troops alike. Poggle’s favored lieutenant, Sun Fac was a capable warrior in his own right who served the Archduke in a number of functions. Together, they led Geonosis through the opening moments of the Clone Wars. Join us in this installment of From Scene to Stats, where we examine Poggle the Lesser and Sun Fac for Star Wars™: Legion.

The public leader of the Geonosians, Poggle the Lesser has several abilities  that reflect his total authority. Always flanked by guards, Entourage: B2  Super Battle Droids means he will always have some form of short-range droid protection. Override 2 allows Poggle to countermand the base programming of a droid’s AI and more effectively control his forces. Just as capable of commanding Geonosian Warriors, Poggle also has Compel: Corps Separatist Alliance Trooper, which keeps his troopers moving forward as they prepare to assault the enemies of the hive. As a Geonosian, Poggle has access to many of the same keywords as his Warriors. Jump 2 gives him a free jump action but Weighed Down will still prevent this if he has a claimed objective token. His key differences, however, are a variety of upgrades, including two Command, one Comms, and one Gear slot. Poggle also has better armor than his Warriors, with red defense dice offering him increased protection. Finally, Courage 3 ensures his armies are less susceptible to panic.

Serving as both an advisor and executioner, Sun Fac had many roles and responsibilities to his Archduke. A renowned warrior, Sun Fac uses his Force Pike to defeat his enemies in hand-to-hand combat, and a Sonic Carbine at  range. With Retinue: Poggle the Lesser, he can make use of a free aim to ensure he hits his mark or gain a dodge to increase his defensive profile in tandem with Cover 1. Like other Geonosians, Sun Fac can quickly fly around  the battlefield with Speed 2, a free Jump 3 action, Scale, and also gains Death From Above. He can also utilize Direct: Geonosian Warriors to give an order to a unit of Geonosian troops supporting him. The addition of a training, comms, and gear slot also gives Sun Fac a range of options as he dominates the battlefields of Star Wars: Legion.

“Let the Executions Begin!” is the first of four new command cards for Poggle the Lesser and Sun Fac. When it is time to finish off a critical unit, this card  allows Poggle to issue orders to two Droid Trooper Units at range 1 and give non-panicked Droid troopers Fire Support during his activation. This combined with the added ability to make two attack actions means nothing will be left of Poggle’s enemies once the dust settles. When Poggle requires his army to maneuver as a cohesive group, “We Serve the Queen!” gives Sun Fac and all Geonosian Warriors Coordinate: Geonosian Warriors, allowing them to attack as one alongside their droid counterparts. When it is time to retreat and rebuild, “We Make Weapons” allows a Corps Droid Trooper unit issued an order with the card to return its order to the pool, and return a miniature to the unit, while also removing a suppression token.

Finally, Sun Fac’s aggressive nature is exhibited in “Brutal Enforcer.” Sun Fac issues himself an order, and after the Issue Orders step can have two friendly Geonosian Warrior units at range 2 perform a free Jump 3 action. Sun Fac then gains Agile 1 and Demoralize 1 for the round. With these new command cards, victory for Geonosis and the entire Confederacy of Independent Systems is assured!
