Scene-To-Stats: STAP Riders

In today’s transmission, we’ll be taking a look at the STAP Riders unit coming soon to tabletops near you in STAR WARS: Legion.

STAPs, or Single Trooper Aerial Platforms, are lightweight reconnaissance and patrol vehicles used by the battle droids of the Trade Federation army and later the Separatist Alliance.

In game, STAP Riders are a fast, inexpensive unit that excels at high damage and high mobility rather than durability. Armed with Dual Blaster Cannons, they threaten enemies at Range 1 to 3, while Critical 1 helps convert offensive pressure into more reliable damage.

Their mobility is further reinforced by several key abilities. Speeder 1 allows the STAP Riders to cover ground quickly as they pass over terrain, while Agile 1 rewards constant movement by generating Dodge tokens that improve their survivability. Lastly, Cover 1 makes them even more frustrating to take down. Together, these abilities allow the STAP Riders to stay just ahead of danger while continually repositioning to find favorable firing lanes or threaten objectives across the battlefield.

Like many Separatist units, STAP Riders thrive as part of the faction’s interconnected battle network. Coordinate: Droid Trooper, Vehicle allows them to pass orders to nearby Droid Trooper or Vehicle units, extending order chains and keeping the Separatist army operating efficiently. If they are left without an order, AI: Move can still influence their activation, reinforcing the importance of maintaining the Separatist order network.

Whether supporting the Separatist battle line, extending the command network, or harassing vulnerable enemy units on a flank, STAP Riders provide speed and constant battlefield pressure for Separatist Alliance players in STAR WARS: Legion.
