Scene-To-Stats: Guerilla Troopers

10/29/2026

Drawn from countless homeworlds and species, Rebel troopers formed the backbone of the Rebel Alliance’s fight against the Galactic Empire. Loosely organized under the Alliance Army, these soldiers operated across the galaxy, using their decentralized structure to adapt to a variety of battlefields and situations. Guerilla Troopers embody that same resourcefulness, relying on careful positioning and whatever equipment is available to carry the fight against the Empire.

That adaptability is immediately reflected on the tabletop in Star Wars™: Legion. Guerilla Troopers are a versatile unit that rewards aggressive deployment and careful planning before the first activation even begins. Their signature Infiltrate keyword allows them to deploy far ahead of the main Rebel force, applying immediate pressure to vulnerable flanks, forcing opponents to rethink their deployment.

Once the battle begins, Independent: Aim 1 rewards them for operating away from friendly commanders, ensuring they remain effective even without direct orders. Flexible Response 2 further reinforces that versatility by requiring the unit to equip two Heavy Weapon upgrades, giving commanders an impressive range of offensive options.

Looking at their weapons, Stolen Blasters provide dependable firepower out to Range 3, while Overwhelm ensures opponents accumulate additional Suppression whenever the unit spends an Aim token during an attack. If enemy forces manage to close the distance, Combat Training gives the squad a reliable melee attack, allowing them to continue contesting objectives without becoming ineffective in close quarters. Together, these attacks encourage Guerilla Troopers to fight aggressively from the midfield, constantly threatening both ranged exchanges and close combat.

Now the heavy weapon upgrades showcase the variety of equipment available to Guerilla Troopers. The Stolen RT-97C equips the squad with a heavy repeating blaster capable of reaching Range 4 while adding four additional attack dice, making it an excellent choice for establishing long range fire lanes after infiltrating into favorable terrain.

Players looking to threaten armored targets can instead equip the Stolen DLT 19, whose Impact 1 gives the unit reliable anti-vehicle capability without sacrificing range.

Last but not least, for commanders who prefer a more aggressive approach, the Stolen HH-12 trades mobility for a nice healthy dose of firepower. With Impact 3 and Cumbersome, the missile launcher excels at punishing vehicles and entrenched targets. Again, thanks to Infiltrate, Guerilla Troopers can begin the game much closer to enemy armor than traditional Rebel Corps units, allowing them to threaten vehicles from advantageous positions early.

Guerilla Troopers capture the Rebel Alliance’s ability to wage war through adaptability and opportunism. Rather than matching Imperial forces soldier for soldier, they rely on strong positioning and flexible equipment to level the playing field.

Whether harassing enemy flanks or turning captured equipment against the Empire, Guerilla Troopers bring a flexible approach to the Rebel Alliance’s fight for freedom!
