How to Team Up in Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances – Night of the Goblin

08/24/2026

When players open their box of Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances – Night of the Goblin, they’ll find everything they need to play, but most will probably be most excited to get their hands on the heroes! With new push fit miniatures in colorful plastic, these pieces spark the imagination whether painted or assembled and ready to hit the board.

Whether zipping around as Peter Parker or sneaking toward objectives as Black Cat, each hero brings a distinct playstyle to the game. Today, we’ll dive into what to expect from each character and how they can work together to take on the dastardly Green Goblin, or whomever else stands in their way.

Spectacular Spider-Man

Spectacular Spider-Man is one of the most versatile heroes in the game. Alongside his defensive ability, he has attacks that can either let him Advance or throw enemy characters, giving him several ways to control the board.

One ability players will want to keep in mind is Witty Banter. This ability lets him protect an ally from a single enemy within 3 spaces of him and grants him an XP for using it. Players will notice that each character has a way to gain bonus XP that encourages their unique playstyle. For Spectacular Spider-Man, Witty Banter means he will often want to stay near his allies or close to dangerous enemies where he can step in and help.

Ultimate Spider-Man

Ultimate Spider-Man brings a more aggressive approach. One of his attacks can throw enemies after dealing damage, while another can arc electricity to nearby enemies. This makes Miles Morales effective at clearing enemies away from objectives and opening space for his allies.

Web Swing is his unique way to gain extra XP, moving him and granting additional attack dice on his next Swinging Strike. This superpower helps Miles Morales get where he needs to be to clear enemies, but it can also help him escape danger or reach an important objective. He will often want to focus on areas where several enemies are threatening his team.

Ghost-Spider

Ghost-Spider comes to the game with graceful attacks and another ability designed to protect her allies. Web Shot has the longest range in the game, with a chance to push the target enemy away. Her other attack is an area attack, meaning it can hit every enemy in an adjacent space, and it grants a guaranteed push if they survive.

Life Saver shows how Ghost-Spider uses her agility and web lines to protect her allies. When enemies attack, Gwen Stacy can move an ally 2 spaces toward herself, which can pull them out of danger. Using Life Saver also grants Ghost-Spider a bonus XP, giving players another reason to look for opportunities to protect their teammates. Keeping her in a position where she can reach allies makes it easier to get the most out of this ability.

Black Cat

Black Cat brings a very different style to the team. Her Cat Claws attack is only Range 1, making it the shortest ranged attack among the four heroes. Meanwhile, Furious Felicity allows her to Place herself next to the defender and then throw them, giving Felicia Hardy a way to deal with minions while repositioning herself.

Her defining characteristic is Master Cat Burglar, which allows her to ignore the core rule preventing heroes from interacting with objectives while contested by a minion. She also gains an additional XP when an objective is completed. That means Black Cat can often focus her actions on reaching objectives instead of stopping to deal with every minion in her way.

Level Up!

The heroes in Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances – Night of the Goblin can be customized throughout the game using Level Up cards earned as characters gain enough XP. These can improve existing attacks and superpowers or give a hero entirely new options. This gives players the flexibility to build their heroes differently from one game to the next.

Remember to look out for each other, because if the Green Goblin’s plans knock any character out, the game is lost!

Each hero in Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances – Night of the Goblin brings a different way to help the team, whether that means controlling enemies, protecting allies, or getting to the objective at just the right moment.

As they earn XP and unlock new Level Up cards, those roles can change from game to game, giving players new ways to build their heroes and work together.
