Grand Tournament 2026/2027 Season Information & Details

10/16/2025

We are getting ready for the 2026/2027 Grand Tournament season. Submissions for events will open in November, and we look forward to reviewing all the applications. The 2025/2026 season has been an exciting one, and preparations are already underway for the next chapter of competitive play.

The 2026/2027 season will run from May 2026 through January 2027 and will feature events in countries around the world. You may notice that the season dates have shifted slightly. This change ensures that Grand Tournament winners have enough time to plan their travel to AdeptiCon, which marks the conclusion of the season.

The Grand Tournament Prize Kits will be supporting Star Wars™: Legion, Star Wars: Shatterpoint and Marvel: Crisis Protocol. If you are interested in hosting or attending an event, please read the details below.

We will accept Grand Tournament applications through Google Forms starting November 3 and closing November 28. Event organizers interested in applying should review the selection details below. When completing your application, please provide full and detailed responses so our Events Team can clearly understand what your event offers. If your event is returning and held Grand Tournament status in the previous season, please include that information in your submission.

Our review process will begin in late November, and we plan to announce the new Grand Tournament schedule in January 2026. The current season will conclude in May 2026, and the next season will begin in June 2026 with new prizes and promos for players around the world.

The Application & Selection Process for Tournament Organizers

Event Requirements

The base requirements for running a Grand Tournament are:

  • The event must be held in person at a legitimate public venue.
  • The event must be open to the public.
  • The event must have at least 32 players per game line they intend to support.
  • The event must be held between May 2026 and January 2027.
  • Events must have at least one dedicated Event Judge per 16 players.
  • Judges may not play in the event.
  • Events must follow the Grand Tournament rules packet exactly and in its entirety.
  • This will be provided during event vetting in November/December.
  • The event must be able to provide terrain and tables following the guidelines specified in the Grand Tournament rules packet.
  • Organizers will be required to submit an after-action report.
  • Details will be provided upon selection.

Details Needed Before Application Submission in November

Applications will be accepted from November 1st through November 22nd, with follow-up communications happening in late November and December. By the time organizers submit an application in November they should know:

  • The event venue (Is the event happening at a convention or other named event?)
  • The date of the event
  • The game lines they are applying to run
  • Attendance caps for each event, not to exceed 96 players
  • Will the event be associated with a retailer?
  • Additional information will be requested during event vetting.

Application Advice

We look at each application individually first, then in comparison to others in the same region. There are lots of factors in selection, but we do want to provide a bit of a framework for metrics that are generally favorable. We will favor events or organizers that:

Have complete and detailed applications

  • Can support all 3 game lines
  • Are taking place at a convention or other multi-day event
  • Can support 64+ players per game line
  • Have a track record of good tournaments that actively support the community
  • While keeping these in mind, we also try to choose events that cover as much territory geographically as possible given the requirements and number of kits we have.

Prizes

Grand Tournament support for the 2026/2027 season will be capped at 96 players per event. The prize kit will include:

  • Participation prizes: 2 foil cards and 6 dice
  • Top 8 prizes: 3 foil cards
  • Top 4: acrylic tokens
  • Winner: trophy, acrylic game dashboard, and 1 bye at AdeptiCon’s 2026 Open Worlds if the Grand Tournament happens on or before February 28th, 2026.
  • We will provide more specifics with the full prize announcement in Spring 2026. Until that time, we will not have the prizes in hand and they may change.

That’s all for today’s Grand Tournament announcement. Thanks for joining, and be sure to check back for more information as we progress toward this next season of Grand Tournaments! We hope to see you there.

Until next time, Atomic Mass Games, signing off!
