Get ready for an exciting new heroic adventure with the upcoming release of Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances – Night of the Goblin! This is not an expansion for Marvel: Crisis Protocol, it is its own standalone game that offers a very different experience for you and your friends.
Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances – Night of the Goblin is a “beat-em-up” miniatures board game that utilizes core rules familiar to any Marvel: Crisis Protocol player. Instead of a head-to-head battle, up to four players team up, each controlling one or more heroes as they work together to take down the Green Goblin and his forces. Success depends on coordination, with players combining powers and planning together to overcome the threat and secure victory. The box includes everything needed to play, including cards, tokens, dice, rules, a game board, and additional accessories, along with a large number of miniatures. Alongside the four heroes and the primary villain, players will face numerous enemy minions that serve as the Green Goblin’s supporting villainous force.
For fans of Marvel: Crisis Protocol, you’ll find some bonus value through the hero and villain miniatures as these five characters can also be used as alternate sculpt options in games of Marvel: Crisis Protocol. You’ll find a set of stat cards for playing these characters in both games inside the box.

Let’s take a closer look at the four heroes featured in Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances – Night of the Goblin. Players step into the roles of iconic web slingers, choosing between Spectacular Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Ultimate Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Black Cat, and Ghost Spider. Each hero brings unique strengths to the team and can be further customized with Level Up cards.
Whether playing solo or cooperatively, all four heroes remain active on the board at all times, making it essential to understand how to best use each character’s abilities every turn to secure victory.
On the villainous side of things, there are exciting new sculpts of Green Goblin and his army of minions. There are eighteen minions in total included with the game, which are composed of a variety of War Goblin, Spider Slayer, and Goblin Army miniatures.
All of the miniatures included in the game are push-fit, so whether you are an experienced hobbyist or picking up a miniature for the first time, you’ll find assembling each finely detailed character to be quick and easy.

The gameplay of Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances – Night of the Goblin features a variety of scenarios, called Stages, which allow for endless replay value. These Stages are played consecutively to tell a larger story, with the players customizing their heroes as they earn experience during each battle. Between the unique conditions of each Stage, the erratic behavior of the Green Goblin, and the endless army of minions to battle, no two games ever play out the same way.
Each game is played over a series of Rounds which are broken down into three phases: Power, Activation, and Cleanup. During the first phase, players accumulate Power on their heroes, a key resource which is utilized to unleash their most powerful attacks and abilities. The Activation phase makes up the bulk of the action each round, and is broken up into two Turns which occur consecutively.

During a Turn the players activate 4 characters, moving them around the board, interacting with Stage objectives, or attacking enemies. Next, all of the enemies currently on the board move, new enemies spawn onto the board, and finally all enemies attack! Enemy movement and attacks are all detailed on their individual rules cards, along with any other special rules they might have.
New enemies spawn onto the board every Turn, meaning that players must fight against an endless horde of minions while also battling the Boss and attempting to complete their chosen Stage’s unique objectives. This means that every single Round of the game is packed full of nonstop action, providing a gaming experience that is highly kinetic and full of thematic heroics.

Once players complete the Stage objectives, the final Boss Battle begins and victory is in sight. If the players can defeat the Boss Battle, they win the game, but if any player is unfortunately KO’d at any point during the game, then all the players lose the game. Working together to support one another is paramount to victory!
Best of all, this box represents the first entry of Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances games. Future games in this line will not only be their own standalone games, but fully compatible with all other entries. This means you’ll be able to mix-and-match heroes, villains, minions, and Stages in the future to create new stories and new challenges to overcome. For example, the next entry will feature the X-Men fighting against Mastermold and his army of sentinels, but if you own Night of the Goblin you can create your own team of 4 heroes using a mix of your favorite web-slingers and mutants to take on this new robotic threat.

Look forward to getting your own copy of Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances – Night of the Goblin later this year, and get ready to save the day solo or with your own super team of friends.
