Today, we want to share an important update regarding Ministravaganza and how Atomic Mass Games will approach studio announcements and community events moving forward.
Atomic Mass Games was announced shortly before the world entered the COVID-19 pandemic. It was an unpredictable and challenging time, and like many of you, we had to find new ways to connect through the games and hobbies we love.
Ministravaganza was created as part of that effort. It gave our team an opportunity to gather with the community, discuss our games, reveal upcoming releases, explore the creative hobby at the heart of miniature tabletop gaming, and celebrate the people who make these games so meaningful.
The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive.
Over time, Ministravaganza grew from a stream into an annual tradition for both the studio and the community. We have loved seeing players discuss the announcements, share their favorite moments, create content around the event, and look forward to what each new Ministravaganza might bring.
That enthusiasm has never gone unnoticed, and we are grateful for the role the community played in making Ministravaganza what it became.
In the years since Ministravaganza began, in-person conventions and community events have returned, once again giving us opportunities to connect with players face-to-face, share our games, and celebrate the hobby together. As those opportunities have returned, the role Ministravaganza was originally created to serve has naturally changed.
As the studio and our gamelines have continued to grow, we have also taken a closer look at how and when we share information about upcoming products. As shared earlier this year at AdeptiCon, we are moving away from revealing large portions of the release calendar during one or two annual events. Instead, we are adopting shorter, more focused announcement windows. When we reveal a product, our goal is for players to be able to experience it sooner, while the excitement surrounding that announcement is still fresh.
The release of the Mandalorian Special Edition Army Box demonstrated the strength of this approach. It was revealed at AdeptiCon and reached players less than three months later. The recent B2 Super Battle Droid pre-order announcement is another example, creating a fun moment of excitement outside the AdeptiCon roadmap. Moving forward, we want more of our announcements to feel immediate and closely connected to the products arriving at stores and gaming tables.
Ministravaganza has meant a great deal to our community and to the members of the studio who helped bring it to life, but with our ability to re-engage more directly with the community at in-person events and the clear excitement and engagement around more timely reveals and announcements, Atomic Mass Games feels this is the right time to say goodbye to Ministravaganza.
Moving forward, our product reveal communication will follow a more consistent year-round cadence, with announcements timed more closely to product availability. AdeptiCon will remain our flagship annual convention and an important part of how we share the future of Atomic Mass Games.
We are excited about the future and continuing to create experiences that excite and energize our incredible player communities.
Our team is incredibly grateful to everyone who watched, participated, and shared their enthusiasm. We can’t wait for what’s next on this awesome journey.
Sincerely,
The Atomic Mass Games Team
