SWL104 Boba Fett (Daimyo)

“Why speak of conflict, when cooperation can make us all rich?” –Boba Fett, Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett

While the Great Pit of Carkoon was a significant site for many on Tatooine, for Boba Fett it was the place that would ultimately begin his transformation from ruthless bounty hunter to protector of Mos Espa. Shortly after his escape from the belly of the Sarlacc, Fett was taken prisoner by Tusken Raiders. He eventually earned the respect of the Sand People, even becoming a member of their tribe and crafting his own gaderffii stick from the limb of a Wortwood tree. This time of relative peace and introspection would prove short lived, however, as the tribe was soon massacred at the behest of the Pyke Syndicate. Fett left the Tusken camp a changed man, and after rescuing master assassin Fennec Shand and regaining his armor from Mandalorian Din Djarin, he installed himself as the new Daimyo of Mos Espa. As Daimyo, Boba would go on to repel a Pyke takeover of Mos Espa, defeating bounty hunter Cad Bane in the process. In this installment of Scene to Stats, we’re taking a look at the brand-new Boba Fett for Star Wars™: Legion!

Boba Fett is a mercenary Operative, coming in at 120 points. He has an excellent array of abilities and weapons at his disposal, making him a formidable addition to Rebel armies. Fett’s Mandalorian armor offers him formidable protection and mobility, adding Impervious, Jump 1, and red defense dice that surge to block. Boba’s previous life as a bounty hunter honed his awareness in battle, giving him Independent: Standby and Sentinel. His copious amount of combat experience is reflected in Arsenal 2, Sharpshooter 1, Tactical 1, and surge to critical. Finally, he has a pair of strong weapons, with his Gaderffii stick providing a strong melee attack and Boba’s trusty EE-3 Carbine picking off enemies at range.

Fett will benefit from several new command cards inspired by his transformation into the Daimyo of Mos Espa. A Simple Man gives Boba Marksman, an aim token, and increases the range of his weapons by 1 if he is not issued an order token. Or, if Boba is issued an order, a unit at range 1 may perform a speed-1 move. When Fett finds himself surrounded by foes, Making His Way in the Galaxy allows him to make an attack at each enemy unit in range 1 in place of regular attack actions. Rule with Respect sees him bolstering the attacks of his nearby allies, adding a black attack die to the ranged attacks of friendly units at range 1 while Boba has a faceup order token. Finally, Boba’s Flame Projector adds a formidable gear upgrade to his arsenal of weaponry, burning away the remnants of his enemies.
