Hello everyone, and welcome to another Atomic Mass Transmission! Today we’re looking at Timeline events in 2026. The Timeline Event document has been updated, the 2026 Timeline containing all the legal characters and cards that can be played has been added to the website, and all of the legal Crisis Cards are collected in a Print and Play document. All of those documents can be found on the Marvel: Crisis Protocol Organized Play page found here!

Timeline events are a tournament format for Marvel: Crisis Protocol that is designed to uniquely challenge the knowledge and skill players by both limiting their options and increasing the amounts of unique combinations of characters and cards needed to play.
In a Timeline event, players must bring 3 Rosters of 10 Characters, 10 Team Tactic Cards, and 10 Crisis Cards selected from the Timeline for the year. Additionally, those Rosters cannot share any of the same characters or cards.
The Timeline this year is themed around Time and Multiverse travel! With the introduction of Kang this year, we were inspired to create a Timeline unlike those in years past. In this Timeline, we’ve included almost every character that shares an Alter Ego with another character in the game.
There are many possible explanations for multiples of the same character showing up at the same place to battle each other! Here’s a few of those reasons:
Talking about the gameplay of the 2026 Timeline a little, we decided to include more characters than normal so that players have a bit more room to play around the restriction of not having multiple of the same Alter Ego in the same Squad. That said, those Alter Egos could be in different Rosters in one player’s Timeline list without causing any Squad building conflicts.
This Timeline mostly consists of the kind of high threat characters that can pull off Multiversal travel as well as most of the characters with the same Alter Egos. This set of characters spans the whole lifetime of Marvel: Crisis Protocol, from the earliest characters in the first core set, to the Earth’s Mightiest core set, and ending with very recent releases like Kang the Conqueror and the Spider-Verse characters. Getting the full lifespan of Marvel: Crisis Protocol has been quite nostalgic for us, and it’s great to see those early characters brawl with the most recent releases.
One Team Tactic Card that we’ve found to be quite fun and effective in this Timeline is Clone Saga, which gives a bonus for attacking a character with the same Alter-Ego. Team Tactics cards that use the Alter Ego to identify who can play the card have also been quite strong. I’m excited to see what else people come up with to take advantage of this Timeline.
